The City of Lugano’s Administration employs over 1,600 people; its main offices are located in Palazzo Civico, in piazza della Riforma, in the city centre.
The Municipal Council is the governing and decision-making body of the Administration and is composed of seven members including the Mayor. Each member is head of a department, a macro-area of activity. Every department is itself made up of various divisions. This organization makes it possible to optimize synergies and services inside the Administration which by their nature interact with each other in related contexts and according to similar principles: www.lugano.ch/la-mia-citta/amministrazione/dicasteri-divisioni (in Italian).
The Administration operates in various policy sectors including those related to regional, economic and cultural development, social life, schools, environment, mobility and property.
It delivers innovative and sustainable services for people living and working in Lugano; it also promotes digital transformation, technological innovation, research and development.
The Administration regularly posts announcements of competitions. Details on how to participate are available at www.lugano.ch/concorsi (in Italian).
Dynamic, international and multicultural, Lugano occupies a strategic position along the North-South axis of the Alps.
