The Alberta Association of Optometrists promotes excellence in the practice of optometry, enhances public recognition of optometry as the primary vision care provider in Alberta, and advances the interests of the profession. It offers public programs through Eyesafe, a corporate prescription safety glass program, and Eye See . . . Eye Learn, a program that encourages parents of kindergarten aged children to have an eye exam and if the child requires glasses, a pair is provided free of charge. It's membership includes optometrists from throughout the province.
