The Finnish Nature Associatio - Luontoliitto in Finnish - is one of the largest Finnish environmental NGOs for kids and youth in Finland. Most of our members are between 5 and 29 years of age. Founded in 1943, we currently have 7 000 members, eight regional, and two local organizations in Finland.
We are both politically and organizationally independent, and the youth organization of the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation (Suomen luonnonsuojeluliitto), the largest national environmental NGO in Finland.
Our mission is a society where natural biodiversity and the intrinsic value of nature is acknowledged and respected. We offer knowledge, experiences, activities and possibilities for kids and youth to influence and participate in environmental decision-making processes.
Some of the things we do:
* Environmental camps, clubs and education for children and the youth
* Courses in environmental education for the youth, students and adults
* Publishing magazines, guidebooks and other material related to nature and environmental protection
* Environmental policy work
