Tirana International Film Festival is the most important cinematographic event that takes place in Albania and one of the most important in Europe, because of the yearly thousands of submissions, the selectivity of the films, the rich program, the fascinating discoveries and premieres of the most important recent cinematic films in the world.
For all the reasons mentioned, Tirana International Film Festival is accredited as a qualifying festival by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the European Film Academy to be nominated for the Best Short Film, which will be eligible for the Oscar® Awards and the Best European Short Film for the European Film Awards. The officially selected Student films at TIFF are eligible to compete and apply for the Student Academy Awards® (SAA).
This recognition ranks TIFF among the 94 most prestigious film festivals on the planet and among 29 most important film festivals in Europe, such as: Venice, Cannes, Toronto, Berlin, Sundance and many others.
The Submissions’ Call is open for the 22nd edition of TIFF 2024, which will be held on September 22-28, 2024. The Regular Deadline is May 22, 2024. The directors, producers and distributors are invited to submit their films, to be released in 2023-2024, through the following Online Platforms: FilmFreeway, Shortfilmdepot and Festhome.

Open to any filmmaker from over 120 countries around the world, TIFF showcases new cinematic work by established directors with international reputations as well as movies by talented students and young artists.
