Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) is an independent agency, established by the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo under articles 119.5 and 142 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo. Duties and functions of the Energy Regulatory Office are established under the Law on Energy Regulator No. 03/L-185, which include, but are not limited to, establishment of transparent and nondiscriminatory functioning of the energy market; establishment of criteria and requirements for issuing authorizations for construction of new capacities; monitoring and ensuring improvement of reliability of energy supply; establishment of sound tariff methodology to set energy activity tariffs; monitoring and preventing abuse of dominant position and other anti-competitive practices.
