The Andean Alliance for Sustainable Development (AASD) implements Agricultural Initiatives in farming communities of the Sacred Valley of Peru, with the mission to harness collective intelligence to support community-led development. Since 2010 AASD has worked with communities to improve their ecological farming practices to address malnutrition via greenhouse construction and workshops at their partner organic demonstration farm, Ecohuella. In addition to community Agriculture Initiatives, the AASD facilitates Experiential Learning programs for visiting student groups and faculty. Ranging from Service-Leaning opportunities to Research, the AASD believes that responsibly designed intercultural exchanges must focus on listening and responding to community-identified needs, and that this process can result in mutual growth and development.
