New Yorkers for Parks is the citywide research and advocacy organization championing quality parks and open spaces for all New Yorkers in all neighborhoods.
Why? Parks are not a perk. They are essential to the health of residents, the livability of neighborhoods, and the economic development of the city. Great parks make a great city.
How? Through our integrated approach of research, advocacy and strategic partnerships, we are driving immediate actions and long-term policies that protect and enhance the city's vast network of parks, ensure equitable access to quality open spaces for all neighborhoods, and inform and empower communities throughout New York City.
New Yorkers for Parks conducts research and builds policy campaigns around our findings on critical issues related to park development, management and maintenance. We advocate for equitable resources for the city's neighborhood parks, promote transparency and public participation in policy and budget decisions, testify at public hearings, and meet regularly with members of City Council and the Administration. To support and inform these efforts, NY4P maintains and builds strategic partnerships with local parks groups and conservancies, academic institutions, government officials and agencies, and other key stakeholders in the public and private sectors.
