The Solar Rating & Certification Corporation (ICC-SRCC) is a program of the ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES), a member of the ICC Family of Companies. Solar Rating and Certification Corporation (SRCC) is an independent, ISO 17065-accredited third-party certification body. SRCC operates certification and listing programs solar thermal products (like solar water heaters and solar air heaters) and small wind turbines. SRCC's certifications are recognized by jurisdictions, utilities and energy experts throughout North America.
SRCC's ANSI-approved standards for solar thermal collectors and systems are specified by many incentive programs, regulations and codes. SRCC also provides listing programs for solar thermal products that assist code enforcement professionals to determine whether solar thermal products and systems comply with building codes and applicable standards
SRCC's certifications are unique since they provide objective performance ratings for solar thermal collectors and systems. SRCC's OG-100 program rates the performance of solar collectors for different solar intensities, climatic conditions and applications. The OG-300 program uses computer-based modeling to provide performance ratings for the whole solar thermal system (collector, tanks, pumps, heat exchangers, etc). The result is performance ratings for almost 200 locations throughout North America. Estimates of gas or electricity savings are also provided. Incentive programs use this information to provide rebates and consumers use it to make the right choices for their projects.
In late 2016, the Small Wind Certification Corporation (SWCC) also became part of SRCC, bringing their well-established small and medium wind turbine certification programs. Much like SRCC programs for solar thermal products, SWCC certification standardizes North American reporting for small and medium wind turbine energy production and sound performance.
