The Duke Financial Economics Center (DFE) seeks to empower Duke undergrads of all majors with finance education, skills training, and networking opportunities for success in finance careers. Established in 2010 under the directorship of Professor Emma Rasiel and Duke alumnus/long-time Wall Street professional John Caccavale, DFE offers finance courses in the Duke Economics Department and extracurricular programs.
DFE has a core group of finance-focused faculty who teach a range of topics, from global capital markets to behavioral finance. Students from all areas of academic interest are invited to participate in our extracurricular activities, which include competitions, lunch & learn sessions with finance professionals, a mock interview program that prepares students for internship recruiting, and a Wall Street mentor program for sophomores.
Our study away programs in New York and London help students learn about finance in context as they attend site visits at major financial institutions, listen to guest speakers from the financial markets, and are mentored by young alumni in the industry.
