The Centre for Innovation and Social Enterprise (CISE) was established in 2020 as an outcome of a British Council project spearheaded by Prof. Roopinder Oberoi from the University of Delhi.
CISE serves as a dynamic platform, fostering cross-sectoral dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge exchange to catalyze innovation and address complex societal issues. It stands as a beacon for creativity, entrepreneurship, and positive social impact within communities.
At CISE, we are committed to conducting on-the-ground research and analysis on emerging trends, best practices, and challenges in the fields of social entrepreneurship, development, and innovation. Through our capacity-building initiatives, we empower individuals, organizations, and communities interested in driving social change through entrepreneurship. One of our key endeavors is to raise awareness among students about the importance of social innovation, entrepreneurship, and impact investing in addressing pressing social and environmental challenges.
Furthermore, CISE develops robust tools, frameworks, and methodologies for measuring social, environmental, and economic outcomes. These resources enable organizations to track progress and enhance accountability, ensuring that their efforts contribute meaningfully to positive change. Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), CISE actively engages in activities and initiatives aimed at achieving targets related to poverty alleviation, gender equality, environmental sustainability, and inclusive economic growth.
In essence, CISE serves as a catalyst for social change, empowering changemakers, and fostering the development of resilient and inclusive communities.
