Establishment of Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce
Pursuant to Royal Decree No. M/6 dated March 1980, the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce was established, officially headquartered in Riyadh. The Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce is entrusted and mandated with coordinating, streamlining, and handling the common interests of the 26 chambers of commerce across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. With the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce coming into play, it has become much more concerned with representing equally the 26 chambers of commerce at the domestic and international levels, while more than ever seeking to develop and promote the role of the private sector in the national economy.
One year into the official inception, the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce has made concerted efforts to take action by initiating and forming its executive body, which is the General Secretariat of the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce in 1981, which marks the date when it has been successfully and efficiently taking rapid steps to realize the goals developed and entrusted.
