West Metro Fire Protection District is an internationally-accredited, ISO 1 rated, full-service, all-hazard, fire and rescue agency. West Metro Fire Rescue (WMFR) was created in 1995 after the community voted to consolidate the Lakewood Fire Protection District and Bancroft Fire Protection District.
Service Areas
West Metro Fire Rescue is a special district government agency providing fire and rescue services to nearly 300,000 residents, covering more than 108 square miles in two Colorado counties with crews at 17 fire stations.
Our mission is to protect lives and property and we are committed to doing what it takes to achieve that.

West Metro Fire has a Training & Event Center, which opened in September 2009 and is located in Lakewood, Colorado approximately 15 miles southwest of Downtown Denver, right off of the "285 Corridor".
The Center offers meeting space and training facilities to public and private organizations for rental use. We have six meeting rooms, along with a small conference room.
Board of Directors
West Metro Fire Rescue is governed by a public-elected seven member Board of Directors that oversees the budget and establish policy.
