Started in December 13, 1980 as the agent for the Republic of Suriname for exploration and production of crude oil in Suriname. The company has grown ever since, and is currently producing 16,000 bopd. A very ambitious Vision 2020 was developed to emerge from an oil company to an energy company. For this reason the Business Development Directorate was created to focus on other alternative energy sources.
