Dubai Police was founded on the 1st of June 1956, following a decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, assigning His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, presidency of the police and social safety in Dubai. There forth, selecting the "Naif Fort," currently the Naif Police Station in Deira, as the headquarters at that time. By the year 1973, the headquarters was relocated to the current location of the Dubai Police headquarters.
The initial logo of Dubai Police, designed by Commander Clayton, carried over by the leader (Lodemeier) and replaced by another leader, Jack Briggs, who initiated the association of police work. He was also the first leader to issue the first written police convention in 1968.
Dubai Police is a modern police, a force of more than twenty-two thousand, both military and civilian, with high levels of training, education and expertise in most fields and specialties making it an integral part of ensuring safety and peace of United Arab Emirates.
