The 1896 Studios and Stages (The 1896) is a woman-owned, pro-artist photo and film stage in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY.
The 1896 Studios & Stages planted its roots 15 years ago when the owner (a sculptor and scenic painter) saw the potential beauty of three gloriously worn warehouses built in Bushwick in 1896. Since then, The 1896 Studios & Stages has blossomed into a complex of four turn-of-the-century warehouses housing a variety of shooting locations for photo, film and television, 30 work spaces for artist and small businesses servicing the industry, and an on-site prop house.
