SOS is a for youth by youth platform aiming towards inspiring, advocating, empowering, and raising awareness on a variety of cultural topics through student-led interviews. As the founder and president, I believe in the power of story telling and that each and everyone of us has an invaluable journey to share which can not be replicated or prescribed.
- Interview conductors/club members develop soft skills (cold contacting, writing request letters)
- Inspired many (150+ people)
- Collaborated with HER Period Dignity, The Pad Project to host The Pad Project Roundtable Discussion
- Increase access to quality education through informational and transformational youth-led interview series - Break stereotypes (racism, beauty standards, GBV, Drag queens, queer community)
- Diverse stories (diverse special guest panel)
- We are providing insights from thought leaders from different industries and making it accessible to everyone, the strength of SOS in the Thai context is that most of the population here uses the Internet but not of the population have access to thought leaders you bring to the table; in this sense, we’re are making alternative education more equitable
- SOS’s unique journalism style overcomes barriers to literacy through video content
- We are giving the agency to youth to tell the story on these often times very heavy topics which is new and exciting because we only hear about these concepts from corporate leaders or world summit
- We are making visible what can be discussed with youth through your video content, because some established youth-led media mostly covers teenage life (which has merit on its own) but does not extend to current events
- We prevent youth-washing because our team are active agents rather than participants of the journalistic process
