Redpencil, a Belgium based SME founded in 2017, has as a mission to develop
high impact applications with distributed information streams creating the open internet of knowledge. To realize this the Redpencil team leverages open data standards and advanced technologies like semantically modelled linked data, rule-based reasoning, machine learning, microservice architecture and the protocols for decentralised peer-to-peer networking. The aim is to establish knowledge as linked data, always available, reusable and shared using authorisation management where applicable.
Redpencil is experienced in the design and development of business-critical and user-oriented applications based on open and distributed data and tailored to the unique needs of the client. They forge long-term relationships with their customers to guide them progressively in opening, publishing and distributing their data transforming it into a valuable asset. Success stories include the Kaleidos project, a linked data based eco-system supporting the decision process of the Flemish Government, and the LBLOD project where data exchange between the Flemish Government and local communities is redefined based on semantic models using a Linked Data editor.
