In November 2011, myYearbook merged with Quepasa Corporation (NYSE AMEX: QPSA), owner of popular Latino social network Quepasa.com. In June 2005, Quepasa Corporation rebranded the company to MeetMe®, Inc. and began trading under the new ticker MEET (NYSE MKT: MEET). Additionally, the company rebranded myYearbook to MeetMe across platforms.
Today, MeetMe is the leading social network for meeting new people in the US and the public market leader for social discovery. MeetMe makes meeting new people fun through social games and apps, monetized by both advertising and virtual currency. With 60% of traffic coming from mobile, MeetMe is fast becoming the social gathering place for the mobile generation. myYearbook was founded by brother-and-sister teen entrepreneur duo Dave and Catherine Cook, along with older brother Geoff. myYearbook began at a single high school in 2005 and grew to more than one billion page views on mobile platforms and 1.2 billion page views on the web each month, making it one of the largest media properties in the US. It was also the #1 web site in the comScore Teens category with more visits, minutes, and pageviews than any other site in the category.
