Built on more than 30 years of grassroots-level philanthropic work, empowHER India’s theory of change and development is simple. Empowering women transforms villages and communities. EmpowHER India currently runs projects in 65 villages in rural Panvel (region outside Mumbai in Maharashtra) across domains of women empowerment, sanitation and education.
Formerly known as SKS Chakshu Foundation, empowHer India’s life mission is to establish an equitable society where all women are empowered to realize their full potential and become catalysts of transformation for themselves and their communities. Today, women in these villages are leading the change and nurturing growth, ushering in a quiet but solid transformation in Panvel.
