A pioneer in retail take-out food, Zorn’s of Bethpage was the first in New York State to offer rotisserie chickens, cooked over an open flame in barbecue ovens in 1949. Southern fried chicken and barbecued spare ribs were soon to follow. Long Islanders, unaccustomed to the idea of complete take-out meals, quickly began counting on Zorn’s of Bethpage to cater their holiday dinners, family parties, and everyday meals. Today, the business, which remains family-owned and operated, has grown to include 63 employees.
The potatoes are still hand-peeled and sliced, while the same large kettles are used for Zorn's of Bethpage's chicken noodle soup and gravy. Everything is made from scratch -- from the family's coleslaw, potato, macaroni salad, to its famous macaroni & cheese, and of course our Southern Fried Chicken. Our chickens are all natural. We only have fresh poultry, which is delivered each day from the farm. If you cannot find the ingredient in your kitchen, you will not find it in our food. We pride ourselves on cooking the same high-quality food for Long Island as we have since the 1940’s.
