At Young Entrepreneur Institute (YEI) at University School, we believe that every child should understand and experience entrepreneurship.
Founded in 2006, YEI empowers K-12 youth to understand and experience entrepreneurship. What began as a business course for high schoolers at University School evolved into a vibrant entrepreneurship curriculum, and soon, YEI was established as its own organization with the goal of making entrepreneurship education accessible to K-12 students from schools across Northeast Ohio and nationwide.
To provide students the opportunity to experience entrepreneurship, we employ a unique model of collaboration. In addition to teaching students directly, we leverage the participation of the community of teachers, entrepreneurs, and organizations around us – the entrepreneurship ecosystem. We work with educators to share best practices in entrepreneurial education. Then, equipped with expert knowledge, they guide their students through the curricular and experiential programs.
