Young Agrarians is the largest educational resource network for new and young ecological farmers in Canada. We offer farmer-to-farmer programming to grow the next generation of farmers. Currently, program delivery is Western Canada focused. The network of farmers and collaborating organizations is national.
The organization has advanced a Grow-a-Farmer Strategy since 2012 to support new and young farmers to access education, training, land, business mentorships, on-farm training in regenerative agriculture, and sector resources.
The team is now 17 people across Western Canada coordinating programming and supporting new generations to access the land and farm.
We are deeply grateful to live, work, grow food, farm and ranch on unceded Indigenous lands. As part of our organization's commitment to Truth & Reconciliation, we are working with kinSHIFT to train farmers in our network to increase capacity to work with Indigenous peoples.
