York University (formerly known as York College) in York, Nebraska, founded in 1890, is a private liberal arts college affiliated with the churches of Christ. Popular majors include education, business, psychology, sciences, criminal justice and Bible. Multiple pre-professional programs are available. York is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and is a member of the Nebraska Independent College Foundation (NICF).
The York Panthers compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Division II and are members of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC).
