Yayasan Jurnal Perempuan was born on 1995 as the first feminist journal in Indonesia. Its all started when Gadis Arivia with Ida Dhani and Asikin Arif established an organization named Yayasan Jurnal Perempuan (YJP). Initiative to published this feminism journal name Jurnal Perempuan is to complete the reference of lecturing feminist paradigm at the humanities faculty, University of Indonesia. On that progress, this journal get more attention from the readers and YJP become more serious to think about the content and packaging of the journal and distributed to almost all famous bookstore in Indonesia. YJP isn't just publishing the journal regularly but also publishing some books with gender perspective.
YJP provides information, training to write and explore the ideas, to perform an activities, and advocacy for women's rights through education, research, and Publishing books, of course in feminist perspective.
