Our History
Founded in 1857 by E. H. Sabin, the YMCA is a volunteer based organization that contributes to the lives of boys and girls, and men and women of all ages, races, religions, and economic backgrounds. We are a not-for-profit organization with the unique opportunity to touch the lives of infants through seniors throughout the community.
The YMCA of Southwestern Indiana is blessed to offer the community five YMCA Branches that are committed to building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities by providing programs based on five basic character values–Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Faith in Christ our Lord and Savior.
