Yiannis Marakakis was born in Athens and draws his origin from Chania, Crete. He studied Law at University of Athens and he holds an MBA from Cardiff University, Wales GB. He has been an athlete since his childhood and in 2004, along with his studies, he was involved in top-level athletics being a member of the national track and field team in 110m. hurdles, gaining several national and international distinctions. Yiannis Marakakis is a member of the Athens Bar Association since 2001. In 2003 he founded his Law Firm in the center of Athens and in 2004 he joined the Legal Department of Antenna TV Group of Companies, where he remained until 2009. Today, IOANNIS MARAKAKIS & Associates Law Firm employs associate lawyers, experienced partners, trainee lawyers and administrative staff.
