WritersCorps is an award-winning program that places professional writers in communities to teach creative writing to youth. Through free workshops, we help young people connect with their creativity, strengthen their voices, and confidently express their ideas. WritersCorps began as a federal pilot program in three cities: San Francisco, Washington, D.C. and the Bronx. Today, San Francisco WritersCorps is a joint project of the San Francisco Arts Commission and the San Francisco Public Library while Bronx WritersCorps is a project of the Bronx Council for the Arts
