This system will be designed to cultivate skilled workers for specific industry sectors driving the economic prosperity of the Highland Lakes.
Training will focus on middle-skill jobs (those requiring 2 year or less degrees or certifications) and career path planning.
• Training outcomes may include certificates, licensure or credentials.
• Methodology may include hands-on, classroom and on-line training and up-skilling, internships and on-the-job training.
• Training results in increased pay and on-going skill development.
There are four Key Concepts / Building Blocks of this plan:
1. Regional is defined as Burnet and Llano Counties.
2. Career Pathways System: changing the way organizations and institutions support worker advancement to achieve economic goals, both individual and corporate.
3. Industry sectors and employers within each sector will guide the system.
4. Talent pipelines of skilled workers and prospective workers for employers will meet business demand.
As an additional business stream, Workforce Network continues to offer just-in-time business solutions for talent management, leadership and accountability.
