We see landscape architecture as the balance between art and science. We find beauty and purpose in the natural systems that define landscapes, and our designs are informed by this tenet. Our work considers a site’s cultural and ecological underpinnings, context, and topographic distinctions in relation to programmatic functions, user needs and architecture, uniting place and people. Based in Charlottesville, Virginia, Wolf | Josey was founded by Mary Wolf and Paul Josey in 2014. We have 30 years of combined experience in a broad range of projects from public parks and college campuses to botanical gardens and private residences. We believe well designed landscapes strengthen communities and the environment, and we bring our values of design and ecological responsibility to every project, regardless of scale.
