1. WindTak provides individualised solutions in wind engineering, focusing on problems related to the operation of wind turbines and the improvement of their energy efficiency. The nature of the wind, local environmental conditions and varying energy prices combined with the characteristics of the turbine require an original approach. Precise analysis allows the best use of both wind resources and turbine potential - the two most important factors generating profits for the owner of a wind park.
2. The construction of ever larger classic 3-blade wind turbines is becoming more and more difficult. According to industry experts (NTNU Trondheim and IWES Fraunhofer), a turbine of rated power of 15-17 MW is the current limit of single rotor technology - any further increase in weight and size is close to the technological, logistic and economic limits.
The solution to this problem is the Multi-Rotor System (MRS) of our design: a wind turbine consisting of multiple rotors covering the same swept area as the single rotor they replace.
Such turbine has a number of advantages over conventional one and can reach a power output of 20+ MW in marine conditions. Our estimates say even about 50 MW being the limit for a single MRS turbine.
3. We base our actions on knowledge, while our knowledge is based on experience, experimental research and precise computational models (structural and aerodynamic). Analyzing historical data of turbine operation, weather conditions, terrain characteristics as well as conducting own measurements, we develop methods to increase energy efficiency, reduce unwanted and dangerous loads and extend the operational time horizon of the turbine. For example, by designing and installing vortex generators, we can help your assets improve AEP, while reducing loads on turbine blades. By engineering tailor-made serrations we impact the noise levels and increase wind turbine production rates.
