Winangali was established in 2005 as an independent Aboriginal communications consultancy to assist Governments and corporations to engage appropriately with Australia’s Indigenous people.
Winangali is certified by Supply Nation, which guarantees Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander authenticity.
As an Aboriginal organisation, we believe the key to communicating with Indigenous Australians is to develop a dialogue with communities, shaped and implemented in ways that respond to local needs and preferences. Informed communication can only occur when respectful engagement occurs. Winangali always works from a position of respect for the community, their traditions and cultural practices.
One of Winangali’s most valuable assets is our Ngara© network – a network of over 60 Indigenous people across urban, regional and remote Australia. These skilled individuals provide us with local knowledge, insights and resources. They are invaluable in putting strategy to work on the ground, providing a conduit for community liaison and engagement.
To augment the strengths we have in communicating with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, Winangali has formal alliances with specialists in the fields of research, policy, media production, psychology and training. These alliances point to our culturally appropriate, considered and informed approach to all our projects and have been integral to the success of numerous government engagement activities Winangali has conducted in recent years.
Winangali is a multi-award winning agency. We were the 2012 Telstra Queensland Business of the Year and the 2012 News Limited Micro-Business of the Year. We were also awarded the excellence in a Government Sponsored Campaign by the Public Relations Institute of Australia at the 2013 Queensland State awards, a finalist in the national PRIA Awards and recipients of the Special Recognition Award at the 2013 Supply Nation Awards.
