Willie Mae Rock Camp (WMRC) is a nonprofit music and mentoring organization dedicated to empowering girls and gender-expansive youth. Our programs operate at the intersection of music, technology, and experimentation to spark curiosity and creative exploration through a social justice lens. We seek to lift the voices of those who have historically been silenced, and our programs directly address the opportunity gap in electro-acoustic music education and technology pathways for underrepresented young people.
Our suite of programs—all of which are free or sliding scale—includes summer camp; in-school music education programs; after-school STEAM-based digital mentorship; community workshops, weekend programming, and pop-up events; and streamed online performances, activities, and guest artist content.
