WildTeam - Changing the game for nature
Our vision is a future with more wildlife to enrich people’s lives and more wild places for the magnificent diversity of life on earth.
Our mission is carrying out activities to improve the conservation status of key species and habitats in Bangladesh, and developing partnerships, tools, and platforms to build the capacity of organisations and individuals to carry out effective conservation.
We are guided by our four core values:
1. We celebrate nature
2. We believe people are the solution
3. We ground everything we do in reality
4. We act fearlessly
We began our journey in Bangladesh in 2003 as a local non-profit called the Wildlife Trust of Bangladesh. In 2012 we changed our name to WildTeam. We are based in Bangladesh and governed by our Bangladeshi board of trustees. In 2012 we also registered as a charity in England and Wales to support our work in Bangladesh with fundraising and technical advice.
The UK charity has also developed a new initiative- WildImpact, which provides non-profit consultancy and training services to help other conservation teams strengthen their effectiveness. To do this we use the PMWC methodology (Project Management for Wildlife Conservation). A methodology covering the knowledge, skills, and approaches required to successfully manage wildlife conservation projects. The methodology has been developed by WildTeam, and based on a range of established approaches, including PRINCE2 and The Open Standards for the Practice of Conservation.
