Headquartered in Asheville, NC, we protect biodiversity and public lands through the power of sound science and public participation, to inform decisions on how our public lands are managed. For nearly 20 years we've protected native habitats and wildlife on publicly owned lands in the South using the power of community involvement, public education, and grassroots organizing. We focus our work on public lands because this is land we all own together. We believe in developing creative strategies to address root problems and produce results, ensuring an impact that will last for generations.
