The West Midlands Consortium is one of the longest running SCITTs in England. For 20 years we have trained graduates to become outstanding teachers with great success. Our courses are designed and delivered in collaboration with Partner Schools to provide you with the most relevant and up-to-date training.
PGCE courses award up to 60 Masters Credits and are supported by our Partner University, giving you all the features of a University PGCE course with the added benefits of a well-established school-based training programme.
The School Direct routes, both of which lead to the award of Qualified Teacher Status, allow schools to be at the heart of the teacher training process. There are two versions of the programme, School Direct (Training) and School Direct (Salaried). In both cases, schools request training places, recruit trainees and form a partnership with a training provider such as the West Midlands Consortium. The school and training provider determine the pattern of training, agree responsibilities and ensure a personalised approach to the course for each trainee.
