History
• 1972: USA based company Wellman Inc. set up her first European plant for rPET fiber production in Ireland: Wellman International Ltd.
• 1980’s: Replacement of the glass bottles by PET bottles, lead to a shift of focus from processing production waste to acquisition & processing of post consumer PET bottles into fiber.
• 1989: Founding of Wellman Recycling in the village of Spijk in the east of the Netherlands.
• 1996: Founding of Wellman France Recyclage, in the town of Verdun in the northeast of France.
• 2007: Acquisition of Wellman Intl. by Aurelius AG.
• 2011: Acquisition of Wellman Intl. by IVL.
