WashU’s Emergency Support Team (EST) is a student-run organization dedicated to providing high-quality, free healthcare services to the WashU Danforth campus. EST utilizes trained EMTs to offer BLS care 24/7 throughout the fall and spring semesters and responds to over 600 on-campus medical emergencies every year.
Beyond emergency response, EST is committed to serving other organizations on WashU’s campus through special coverage of sporting events and large events such as WILD (a major concert that WashU hosts).
EST also engages with a variety of public health measures by staffing vaccine clinics in conjunction with WashU Health Services, offering BLS CPR training through AHA certified CPR instructors, and working with initiatives such as LifeSaveHer.
As a member of the National Collegiate EMS Foundation (NCEMSF) Hall of Fame, EST has received significant recognition for their accomplishments in patient care and public health. In addition to induction into their hall of fame as winners of the 2024 Stryker Skills Competition, NCEMSF has honored EST with the EMS Ready Campus, Striving for Excellence, and HeartSafe Campus designations.
