WIN-TV is an American-owned satellite news and information channel broadcasting in Farsi, currently in North America, with a full launch in the Middle East and Southern Europe in the Spring 2010. Operating as a private, advertising-supported corporation, Washington International Network Television LLC, is based in Washington, DC.
In addition to reporting on regional and international events, the channel will broadcast roundtable discussion programs, current affairs magazines and features on a variety of subjects including women’s issues, the arts, technology, science and medicine, history and biographies.
WIN-TV is dedicated to presenting accurate, objective, balanced and a comprehensive examination of the news in order to broaden its viewer’s perspectives and to promote a free and democratic society to Iranians and the Iranian Diaspora.
The channel is in a soft launch, and will expand its programming to an eight-hour schedule in the late Winter / Early Spring 2010, beaming its signal on Nilesat to the Middle East and Southern Europe, and in North America on Galaxy 9.
The channel will then fully launch with a brand name that supports the mission to provide a free news and information environment throughout Iran and the Middle East.
WIN-TV is a multimedia platform including a bi-lingual web site with updated news and information, along with mobile applications.
