WakeSense was founded by three MBAs from Henley Business School in 2019. Our mission is to transform years of academic research into a marketable product that enhances driver safety, productivity, and well-being through electroencephalograph (“EEG”) brain activity monitoring.
Compared to existing products, our EEG-based solution allows for direct,
quantifiable and reliable identification of early stage fatigue, “flow-state” and inattention. This is specially relevant for drivers, both everyday as commercial (HGV), since it warns the them before fatigue reaches dangerous levels where it is not safe to drive. Considering that driving tired is as dangerous as drink driving the WakeSense solution can help save lives. Actually, by midnight tonight, at least one person in the UK will have been killed by someone driving when they are too tired.
In addition to our driver safety solution, by monitoring, providing neurofeedback, and offering focus-training we can help manage “focus” and reach a higher potential.
The first design is based on a single ear-based sensor developed by expert neuroscientists and systems engineers. Our customers are new drivers, commercial fleet managers, home-workers, children with learning difficulties and those desiring to get improved concentration and productivity.
The WakeSense team combines expertise in engineering and brain signal
processing with the drive to bring this technology to everyday life.
