WRVO Public Media is a non-profit, non-commercial, multi-platform news and information service for residents of central and northern New York state and a member station of NPR. Broadcast studios and administrative offices are located on the campus of SUNY Oswego. WRVO employs about 12 professional staff in management, business, news, corporate underwriting sales, operations, and engineering. A satellite studio is located in downtown Syracuse.
The multi-station network serves more than 20 counties in central and northern New York from transmitters in Oswego, Syracuse, Utica, Watertown, Clayton and Fenner. Affiliates and translators provide WRVO to the communities of Ithaca, Cortland, Geneva, Rome, Hamilton and Norwich.
WRVO provides a compelling mix of regional, national, and international news, talk, information and entertainment. Our programming features not only local programming but news and analysis from NPR, American Public Media (APM), Public Radio International (PRI), BBC, and other networks.
