Since its launch in May of 2002, Cleveland 19 News at 11 has supplanted a thirty-year late news leader near the top of the late news ratings in just three calendar years. The great late night news gains are also pushing other Cleveland 19 Newscasts on WOIO: Cleveland 19 News This Morning and Cleveland 19 News at Noon are all trending upward. WOIO's Sign-On Date was May 19, 1985. In 1986, Malrite Communications Group gained majority ownership of the station, which it maintained until September 1998 when Raycom Media purchased the station.
