Wimos Association

WIMOs (Women in Maritime Operations) is dedicated to educating, engaging, and elevating women who are actively employed in the maritime industry. Industry employment could include, but may not be limited to, individuals that own, operate, charter, dispatch or provide other types of logistical, safety and emergency management services on the water. The organization’s membership currently includes 1,000 individuals who work for 250+ different companies. WIMOs has 13 chapters and "seed" chapters. Formal chapters in: Ohio Valley (Pittsburgh, PA to Louisville, KY) West Kentucky (greater Paducah, KY area) Southern Louisiana (greater New Orleans, LA area) Houston (Port Arthur, TX to Port Lavaca, TX) Coastal Bend (Port Lavaca, TX to Port of Brownsville, TX) Pacific Northwest (Portland, OR to Seattle, WA) “Seed” chapters in: Mobile Gulf Coast (Mississippi to Northwest Florida) Jacksonville, FL (Greater Florida ) Hampton Roads/Norfolk (Greater Chesapeake Bay) Northeast (ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, NJ, NY, and CT) Twin Cities (Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul area, including St.Cloud to La Crosse) Nigeria (Greater Gulf of Guinea) Tampa (Greater Tampa area, including St. Petersburg and Clearwater) The organization is growing rapidly.
