Founded in 1978 by Walter A. Rasic, Sr., W.A. Rasic Construction Company has been in the business of building American infrastructure for over 45 years.
Born in Dole, Herzegovina to Croatian parents, Walter A. Rasic, Sr. left his family at an early age, powered by the dream of escaping communist Yugoslavia. He made it as far as a German work camp where he spent three years learning the trade of installing pipelines, mains and services.
With a growing ambition, Walter had his eyes set on achieving the American Dream. Teaching himself English, he made it to the United States in 1961, working for a cousin that had established a pipeline construction company while also working as a dishwasher in the evenings.
In the early 1970’s, Walter took the leap, starting his own construction company, and in 1978, incorporated W.A. Rasic Construction Company, Inc. The company's founding purpose still rings true to this day -- building relationships and developing American infrastructure that enriches the lives of the communities that we live.
Since that time, Walter’s three sons joined him in the family business, which has diversified its service offerings to include all elements of utilities construction from water, wastewater, sewer, power, gas, refined products and beyond.
W.A. Rasic has become one of the largest privately-held utility contractors in the Western United States. As the world and its markets evolve, one thing has remained constant for W.A. Rasic and that is our foundation, which is rooted in our American values and family tradition.
