Volta Motorbikes, new electric motorbike manufacturer based in Catalonia, was founded by Marc Barceló, young industrial engineer with a long experience in the automotive industry, with the mission of providing innovative solutions for a sustainable urban mobility. Volta Motorbikes combines design, sporty feel, innovation and sustainability all in one, demonstrating that an electric motorbike can be high performing and environment friendly, fashion and smart urban daily commuter. That mix makes Volta Motorbikes different from all the other electric motorbikes brands.
Marc Barceló shared his challenge with the IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) and ÀNIMA (Design Firm from Barcelona). 2010 IED automotive design course was the creative context where Volta Concept got its sporty and fashion shapes and later on ÀNIMA took care of the first prototype (EV.1) development.
After launching EV.1 in Barcelona (April, 2011), Volta Motorbikes project has now come to fruition.
Last November 2011, at the International Motorcycle Exhibition of Milan, Volta Motorbikes unveiled its first motorbike, Volta BCN that will be available for sale during the 2012 second quarter.
Volta BCN shows us the tight relationship that Volta Motorbikes keeps with its “hometown”.
Volta Motorbikes embraces many of the values that made Barcelona famous all over the world: design, innovation, international lifestyle and a strong commitment for a smart, sustainable urban mobility.
