VoLo is a private African company that was set up to address trust information needs in developing markets. After successful operations with previous biometric-based ventures within Africa, the founders of VoLo have determined that the future of trust management lies in integrating robust biometric technology that overcomes identity challenges and multifaceted platforms.
To make healthcare and credit easily accessible, VoLo developed unique systems and processes that bind biographical, biometric, and sector relevant data into a multi-platform and scalable database called the VoLo Trust Information Platform (VTIP).
VoLo launched its financial activity in May 2012 with a pilot project supported by the African Development Bank (AfDB) to provide quality information on African SMEs and give them access to credit. VoLo enrolled more than 7000, i.e. more than double the initial objective. This resulted in a great mention of VoLo in the Harvard Business Review in October 2015. VoLo is the Regional Winner of Seedstars World Dakar Startup.
