Founded in 1970, Vietnam Television (VTV) is the national television broadcaster of Vietnam. VTV's regional broadcasting centers are located in Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Da Nang, Phu Yen, and Can Tho. Programming is relayed nationwide via a network of provincial and municipal television stations.
VTV currently operates bureau offices with staff and correspondents in the United States, European Union, United Kingdom, Singapore, Japan, China, Russia, United Arab Emirates, Laos, Cambodia and sends reporters to all over the world to report news, produce documentary and make video conferences.
Along with the system of free-on-air channels, VTV is also the largest cable and satellite television provider in Vietnam through its controlling divisions, including Vietnam Cable Television Company, LLC (VTVCab), Saigontourist Cable Television Company, LLC (SCTV) and Vietnam Satellite Digital Television Company, LLC (VSTV, also known as K+).
Besides traditional broadcasting business, VTV has recently offered new streaming video on demand service (SVOD) under VTVGo brand, online newspaper vtv.vn and bi-weekly VTV Magazine. It also owns Vietnam Television Film Center (VFC), one of the major film studios in Vietnam.
