Vermont Virtual is a partnership of Vermont’s schools that offer online courses to students in K-12 institutions across Vermont. This partnership offers a variety of high-quality courses that can expand the learning opportunities for students seeking challenging and engaging curriculum in a non-traditional approach. All students need multiple opportunities to access courses and content with high engagement and interest. In particular, students in low socio-economic status seek multiple learning pathways for their success. Courses in Vermont Virtual include foreign languages, AP courses, numerous academic and elective courses, as well as those that provide support to struggling students. In addition to offering online courses, Vermont Virtual also provides summer school, professional development for the staff and faculty of Vermont’s schools and custom online solutions that allow students more availability, accessibility and flexibility for their learning. Because of the overwhelming pressures of schools to provide more support and options for their students while decreasing their budgets, Vermont Virtual is vital to providing more opportunities to Vermont’s learning community.
