Established in 2001, VIET stands as the inaugural non-profit organization in Louisiana dedicated to addressing economic and social disparities faced by non-English-speaking and underserved communities. The organization is driven by the mission of mitigating the disparities that hinder community members from realizing their full potential and attaining the American dream. Situated at the epicenter of the most densely populated Vietnamese community in Orleans Parish, VIET serves an area that has welcomed thousands of immigrants from Vietnam since 1975. Despite enduring various adversities, VIET remains steadfast in its collaborative efforts with residents to dismantle barriers and advance principles of equity, justice, and unfettered access to resources.
