Urban Community School strives to break social and economic barriers to success for Cleveland's near west side children by providing an individualized, innovative, and challenging education. Rooted in the Ursuline Sisters’ tradition of faith, character, and educational excellence, UCS engages our faculty, families, and community partners in the successful whole child development of our students.
UCS currently serves nearly 750 students from six weeks to 14 years old (8th grade). Approximately 80% of our families receive significant financial support and 75% of our students qualify for the National School Lunch Program.
Urban's campus is expanding as we move forward and grow the services that our children and families need and deserve. The future is bright with the continued growth and evolution of our wraparound services. Our on-campus partners include The MetroHealth System, Urban Squash Cleveland, Re:Source Cleveland (formerly The Refugee Response), Facing History and Ourselves, House of Champions, and USA Lacrosse. Urban is transforming our campus into a safe haven for our children and their families.
