The University of Memphis School of Communication Sciences and Disorders is nationally recognized for its academic, research, and clinical education programs for educating future audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and speech, language, or hearing scientists interested in helping individuals with such communication disorders. The School has been consistently ranked among the best graduate programs by U.S. News and World Report every year since 1998. Students receiving undergraduate degrees in universities around the country and the world apply to the graduate degree programs offered by the School. This results in a highly qualified and diverse group of students across the several academic degree programs offered. The Memphis area contains one of the largest medical centers in the country and students can have diverse clinical experiences in a variety of settings. The Doctor of Audiology, Au.D., program and the Master's of Arts, M.A., degree in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Memphis are accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Interested in an Au.D. or M.A. degree in Speech-Language Pathology? Professional program applications will be accepted annually between July and February 1st. Review of applications begins Februrary 1st. Interested in a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders? PhD program applications will be accepted throughout the year; applications submitted by February 1 will be considered for funding. Interested in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), Population Hearing Health, and Vocology graduate certificates? In-person, classroom attendance is required.
